The Cutervo Province is one of the thirteen that make up the Cajamarca Region of Peru.   Main Tourist Attractions:   Cutervo National Park Located 260 km north of the city of Cajamarca and about 14 hours and 30-minute car drive.   Cutervo National Park is the oldest National Park in Peru. It was established September 8, 1961 by the Peruvian Government as the first protected natural area created.   Its main attraction is the Cueva del Guácharo, a one-hour walk from the locality of San Andrés. In the cave is a colony of guacharo, nocturnal birds that feed exclusively on fruit and nuts. There is also a stream which flows under this cave, containing a species of catfish. Visitors can also see several varieties of flora as well as animals such as jaguars (panthera onca), tigrillos (leopardus pardalis), spectacled bear, otters, etc.
